Welcome to Living with Punks!
A place where sophistication and mischief collide
A bit about me
I grew up in a small California farming town with only 80 kids in my graduating senior class. Even though I lamented about having to drive 15 minutes just to get to a friend’s house, I can now appreciate the slow-paced environment my parents enjoyed and fostered in our lives. I wrangled cattle and picked garlic in my dad’s fields at a young age. I learned the value of hard work and I wouldn’t change it for the world. It shaped me, and I’m convinced I wouldn’t be where I am today without all of that influence. Now that I’m an adult, I’ve inherited that love of the (somewhat) country life and our family lives in the California Central Valley. The punks are happy they only live about 5 minutes from their nearest friends 🙂
What’s with the name?
PUNKS! Although my kids earn the more sinister meaning of the word on a daily basis, punks was just a natural shortening-morph of the word pumpkins. My oldest are twins and since there are two of them, they have been dubbed “The Punks” by all our family and friends since they were little. Once our daughter was born, she became an honorary, card-carrying member of the punk club. 🙂
