Remember our Reversible Pom Trim Tablecloth? Well, we couldn’t just stop there! We realized soon after the tablecloth was made that we were going to need a few napkins to go with the whole look. These napkins are kid-sized, but you could easily follow our directions, and just increase the size. Most dinner napkins are 16” square, so just add an inch around and use this tutorial for the rest of the steps! Plus, with them being reversible, you can get twice the use out of them! I can see several being made for our big Christmas celebrations we have around here….
So, if you need an addition to your play table linens (and I mean, who doesn’t?), then follow along!
1/4 yard of fabric #1
1/4 yard of fabric #2
Lay the two fabrics on top of each other, right sides together and cut each stack into 9”x9” pieces
Sew with a 1/2” seam all the way around, leaving about a 3” gap on one side. Clip the corners.
Sew an edge stitch 1/8” away from the edge. Sew another stitch 1/4” away from the edge. This gives you a nice, double stitched look to the edges, and keeps your napkins from losing their form
I love the crisp, clean look they have!
We keep them properly folded on the side of the plate…
Or, we stuff them in the cute little water goblets…just depends on our mood 😉
