I’m so happy to be a part of Lindsay’s Pattern Tour for the adorable new patterns she has just released! She is one talented Cottage Mama! Her designs are always so fresh and feminine, plus, she’s super sweet. She is actually getting ready to release her first book called, ‘Sew Classic Clothes for Girls: 20 Dresses, Outfits, and Accessories from The Cottage Mama’. It will be available October 7, 2013. Yay! So, not only is she talented, she is a busy, talented mama!
Have you seen her new patterns that were just released? I get to show you the Miss Matilda Top and Skip and Play Capris. All of Lindsay’s patterns are just the ticket for this mama eager to sew up some Kindergarten clothes for the littlest punk. Sometimes, I shed a little tear when I think of her going off to Kinder…
I think my favorite feature of the Miss Matilda Top Pattern is the full, feminine skirt. The flounciness is contagious and the length is perfect for wearing with capris. You could even pair it with leggings or even a pair of shorts!
I sewed up View C for the bodice and used snaps instead of buttons. Have you ever used snaps on a garment? It’s really a…snap! As I was installing them, I was thinking it might be helpful to post a video tutorial on how to put them in. I would just need to convince a 10 year old cameraman to shoot it for me 😉
I love this very scholarly fabric combo I ended up with too. Just the ticket for a new student!
The Skip and Play Pants were a cinch to sew up and they fit great! They are a flat front, which I love, but the back is slightly elasticized for easy on/off.
All of these patterns either come in an instant downloadable pattern, or you can purchase the paper pattern to be delivered straight to your door. Head over to The Cottage Mama Shop and check out all the patterns available.
Make sure to check out all the other bloggers who will be sewing up various different versions of these new patterns from The Cottage Mama. The other patterns being released are the Georgia Vintage Dress and the Daphne Wrap Dress. Check them out!
