When I finished this project, I had to say… it came out better than I could’ve imagined! When I first told my husband what I was doing, and with what piece of furniture I was using, and what color I had decided on, he looked at me like I was crazy.
I’m sure, in his universe, I am still crazy… but I love this piece of furniture! The color is so cool and fresh feeling. It sets the tone for my whole house. It sits in the foyer and stores all the kids’ board games. It’s very functional and sturdy. I do have to admit there was a 50/50 chance I was going to ruin it, and if I did, my plan was to quietly dispose of it in the middle of the night. Thankfully, I didn’t have to lug it out in the dark by myself! It’s fabulous!
Here’s what it looked like before. I bought this about 7 years ago from my local furniture store. It was a great purchase when I got it, but now the colors were dated and the black was clashing with my new, fresh approach to the colors currently in my house. I’m going for a clean, tropical feel with lots of white accents. Want to know what color I used? JADITE from Sherwin Williams. And, I got inspiration for the color from a vase in my home using their color snap app
