Pattern Review: Figgy’s Ayashe

Figgys-Ayashe-at-LWP-1If you are looking for a feminine blouse pattern that is fun yet sophisticated for your little one, then look no further.  I can’t tell you how much I love this!  It’s unlike any top I have sewn.  The design is superb and very ‘not handmade’ looking  :)

Figgys-Ayashe-at-LWP-2The fabric I used is Anna Maria Horner’s Loulouthi Clippings in Forest voile.  It is heaven!  Soft and breezy, and color so vibrant!  I didn’t quite use the whole yard, so I’m hoping I can make a little something with the left-overs.    This is my first attempt using voile and I love it… it’s a bit pricey so I think I will stick to smaller projects like this one.

Figgys-Ayashe-by-LWP-4I think the mandarin-esqe collar is one of my favorite features.  The construction is geared toward an experienced sewist so make sure you’ve got your thinking cap on  :)

Pattern: Ayashe Blouse   **BONUS:This pattern includes a skirt pattern too!** (not pictured)

Skill Required:  Intermediate

Cost:  $16

Fabric used:  AMH Loulouthi Clippings in Forest ($15/yard)

Other notions: Interfacing and elastic

Pattern Sizing:  18m-8/9  (I cut size 4/5)

True to size?:  Runs a bit small/slim

Paper or Download:  Paper

Instructions easy to follow?:  I have found that Figgy’s writes patterns for the experienced sewist.  Make sure you have sewn up a few things before you attmept this or else you will be frustrated!  Other than that, instructions are spot on

Alterations?:  2 different collar and waist options are included.  Different sleeve length options also

Will you use this pattern again?:  Yes

What do you love most about it?:  Everything!  Love the sleeves, the back panel, the collar and the style.  It’s a classic blouse!

I just posted a review of the exact same pattern on my blog, and I used some AMH Voile as well! What a coincidence. Love your version. Check mine out if you'd like. http://sewvery.blogspot.com/2012/06/figgy-ayashe-blouse-skirt-pattern.html
