Pattern Review: Emmaline Dress by VFT

Emmaline-by-LWPI was so excited to get this pattern!  When Violette Field Threads teased us with the pattern several weeks ago on Facebook, I about died!!!  I love maxi dresses, but let’s face it:  They don’t always look the greatest on adults…so I got my fix by making little punk one!

DSC_4138I knew I wanted to make it with knit and ran out and bought this pink and orange tribal ikat.  It’s a soft, weighty knit that has deep, gorgeous color hues.  If you end up making this dress in a knit, I would suggest omitting the ruffle piece on the neckline.  That was a lot! of knit to sew through and weighted it down a bit.

DSC_4163She said she feels like a princess in it.  :)  She had a lot of fun twirling and spinning in her new favorite dress!  Bonus:  She actually cooperated with me taking pictures…that say’s a lot!

This a super cute dress, but for me personally, the neckline is WAY to low for a girl...does it seem it would be easy to adjust and bring up higher?
