Cabo Wabo

So, I bought this fab Amy Butler pattern and was thinking how fun it would be to make one together?  Just perfect for the up-coming spring and summer months.  I love how you can display some bee-you-tee-full fabric with this one!   I know it sounds intimidating to sew for yourself and to tell you the truth, there usually isn’t a ton of patterns out there that are cute enough to sew for yourself… but this pattern is to die for cute and you’ll never know unless you try, right?  And, if we do it together, we can totally encourage and help each other out by using the discussions on Flickr.
I’ve already started a Sew-a-long group on Flickr, so make sure to join…the more members we get participating, the more prizes we will have at the end of our sew-a-long :)
My method of a sew-a-long is to post progress and tips about the pattern and show how mine is being sewn together at certain areas.  I will do that here on the blog and then of course on Flickr.  Because this is a purchased pattern, I cannot show every step, but there will be lots of helpful photos and explanations.  You will be able to share your progress and fabric selections in the Flickr group too, allowing the rest of the group to see your ideas and progress and encourage you with comments.

Here is a view of the back of the pattern so you can look at the size and fabric requirements:

I’m thinking that we could start around the first or second week of April, giving you guys plenty of time to get your supplies.

Please leave me a comment below, or just join the Flickr group if you are gonna play along, that way I know what kind of interest is out there.

In the next week or two, I will make a formal announcement as to when we will begin!
Ok … who’s in?

I wish I could join in on this, but I’m too small for this (and every) pattern. I really need to learn how to make them smaller. :-( Everyone who does do it will have so much fun and I can’t wait to see the results!

I’ve had this pattern for 4 years. I made a halter when I first got it – I wore it all the time. then I lost 30 pounds and had to take it in – I would be up for making another as well!
