OPP: Violette Field Threads Giveaway {Closed}

Welcome!  OPP is my series on sewing Other People’s Patterns.  I love to sew and I love seeing all the fresh, new ideas out there in pattern making too!  These ladies are talented and I want to represent their creativity in any way I can.

This month is Violette Field Threads

Violette Field Threads Pattern Company is definitely a breath of fresh air!  Their style is chic and sophisticated with a healthy dose of playfulness.  I love that combo!

I chose the Viola Sweetheart Dress and Nadine Hair Flower.  Boy, what a combo!  They compliment each other so well and I am certain many more ensembles will be sewn up before the end of the year. 
Do you love the fabric I chose?  I know, a little scary… but little punk loves crabs and I just had to get it.  Don’t you think she makes crabs look good?
The under skirt is a Japanese toile that matches the color tones perfectly.  That’s one nice feature to this dress is the ability to use two fabrics that you can actually appreciate because you get to see big parts of them on the dress


The straps and ties are both made using each of the fabrics on either side.  The low back gives it a retro feel and the flared bodice is playful and unique.
The dress came together exceptionally easy and the instructions were spot on!  I made the dress up a size for longer wear , but it seems to fit her perfect right now, so just remember the pattern may run a bit small.


I usually make my own hair accessories, so this was my first time using a pattern and again, EASY!  I just love this Nadine flower.   The color combinations are endless.   I can see it in a scarlet red for the upcoming holidays…or even black for me  :)
