Gift. Color Matching Dolls

color matching gift 004
Along with the baby gift I gave to my sweet friend a few weeks ago, I tucked in these little girlies.

I pinned THESE a few months ago and fell in love.

I used colors that were a little more feminine with mine.  I will definitely be making a set for punk sister too!

The figures are simple wooden tidbits found in the unfinished wood section of any craft store. Or, you can buy them online Click HERE for doll pegs.  Click HERE for the bean pots.

I recently saw Simple Simon and Co. made these cute Star Wars figures using the same wooden pegs!  So many possibilities with these!

Don’t you think this is a great handmade gift for a 2 year old to begin learning colors?  Christmas is coming up!  Start prepping!

I have those dolls pinned too (for a loooong time already)- and my craft store doesn't have the pots or the doll tidbits! Making them for Christmas is a great idea though! I think I'll just keep trying to find them and make them for the holidays!

What kind of paint did you use? Acrylic or water color like cheerios? yours seem to be a bit more vibrant which I like.

Thanks for the link to the wood shop. I've also been looking for these since I saw them on gluesticks a long time ago!

Lisa, I used regular acrylic paint and then sprayed clear glaze to set the color.

I love these, they are so cute. Don't know if I've got a steady enough hand for the painting though. My son adores the star wars ones, thanks for posting!
