I have a very special friend who is having her first little bambina…
It’s so fun to sew for babies, yah? Especially little girlies. There is just somethin’ about it…
This sleep sack was made using Anna Maria Horner’s Book Handmade Beginnings. Love!
Click the pic to view the book on Amazon
I’ve made one before, and really… it’s very simple to put together. Definitely my go-to baby gift.
The flannel interior is so cozy.
And the patchwork is great because you can use up scraps! Hallelujah!
Also in the book is a pattern for stacking/nesting blocks.
But, after all the toil…it has become worth it seeing them here
I created them so that the nesting block exterior matches the corresponding interior to *hopefully* help baby learn how they nest
I love ‘em and wanna keep ‘em…
Oops, punk sister would like them to stay too…
Well, we got over it and packaged them up all nice and sent them on their way to the shower.
Does anyone else have Handmade Beginnings?
Post some pics of your finished products from the book to the Living with Punks Facebook page and we can all see :)
Oh, and if you are intimidated about making a patchwork garment, you can use my TUTORIAL to ease all your fears :)

I love this book! I have made the sleep sack as well for a friends baby girl. I wanted to leave it on the hanger and stare at it!
looks like I NEED that book!

Awesome my niece is 3 weeks old- that would be perfect!! You should do a give away !!LOL
That sleep sack is absolutely adorable! And genius idea to have the exterior of the cubes match the interior of the ones they go in. I never would have thought of that.
Too cute everithing! I´m from Chile and I invite you to visit my blog; it´s new but you can see my things.

Wow both the sleep sack and boxes look fantastic - that's one lucky baby!
I'm glad they both made it to the shower :) Baby German is one lucky girl to get this wonderful gift!
These are all so precious! I don't know of anyone to make them for right now...but I so want to!
Thanks for sharing!

Those blocks are so cool!
That came out so adorable and I love the nesting blocks so clever in how you lined them.
I'm going to have to get this book. I'm a beginner, but I've got to start somewhere! What you made turned out so cute!
I've got the book and have made the four corners nursing top. Plans to make many more projects, and now that I've seen the sleep sack up close, that one is being added to the list!
