I rarely second-guess myself on fabric selection. Oh, don’t get me wrong…I circle the wagon several times before I actually make a decision, but once I do, it’s a done deal. I love it and there aren’t any questions.
This one was different. My fabric selection was made a little hasty. I snuck out of the house by myself telling hubs I was running to the store to pick up a few things for dinner (ahem, which I did), but I made a small detour into our local quilt shop to peruse the fabrics.
After about 30 minutes or so, I started to panic. I’m sure the ladies working were starting to get a little worried too, since I had picked up about 50 different bolts, and then put them all back. I couldn’t quite get that “This is it” feeling. So, with the clock ticking and a head full of images of kids jumping off couches unsupervised, I grabbed this textural black/white weave and a complimentary green.
I was proud of myself for thinking outside the print/polka dot box! I was proud of the practicality of wanting to use fabrics that will most likely go with my signature color… and I thought it would be a sophisticated color combo
