Please excuse the half-red hair! They had crazy hair day at school on Friday. Ummmm, yah… the homemade colored hair gel hasn’t washed all the way out yet! Yikes!
I added a little applique onto the front of each pocket to add a little more interest…I love the final outcome
I used regular quilting cotton for the exterior and soft, buttery sweatshirt fabric for the interior. The sweatshirt fabric makes the hoodie a nice, cozy weight to wear when it’s chilly outside, but light enough for a cool spring day.
So get crackin’! The pattern is delivered right to your computer via PDF, all you have to do is pick out the fabric {or enlist your punk to do it!}.
The instructions are very detailed with pictures of EVERY step, so even beginning sewers have nothing to worry about. The zipper was a snap to install too. I think it has something to do with being able to completely seperate it and then install on each side, without it having to be zipped.
One of my boys {the one that apparently likes trout} said that everyone at school was asking them about their hoodies...Here's how the conversation went:
Blake: At school today, everyone was asking about my hoodie.
Me: Really? That's cool.
Blake: They wanted to know where we got 'em.
Me: Oh yah? What did you say?
Blake: I said we got em at a store
{Yes, I have a comedian for a son}

now THAT's some awesome crazy-hair-day-hair!!
Very well done! Your boys seem to be such great models. What do you use for the waist and cuffs? These are the parts that make me nervous about sewing something like this.
the hoodies are adorable!! wish my boys were a little younger (it's all about the abercrombie hoodies now:)- the crazy hair looks great too- we used to love crazy hair day but they banned it at our school now -too distracting they say:(
I love this pattern too! Sad my big guy is too big for it now, although I can alter the pattern to make it big enough for him.
These hoodies are awesome! I love the hair too!
How exciting! I love how these turned out. If I let my 2 year old pick out the fabric he'll be wearing Thomas the Train!
Awesome! I think it's cool that your son picked trout! Great hoodies and love the hair!
I got this pattern over the holidays after I saw it on your original OPP post. I made a Superman hoodie for my son and it turned out great! Since my kids are only on the smallest size for the pattern, I know I will be making many, many more!
I love these sooooo much! And I love the attitude of your men! Awesome!

haha, awww, did they really say they were from a store? The trout hoodie just kills me, that's hilarious. Boys!
Those hoodies look awesome. I love that they are quilting cotton on the outside, what a great way to get some great prints in there!
My boys would love those hoodies. My daughter already told me she wants one made from the guitar fabric. LOL
My son is totally into hoodies and since he is still in elementary school, I think this will be a L...O...N...G phase! These are super cute!
