I have been in a patchwork mindset. After making this, I can't get "patchwork" out of my head. I just love the different patterns and color combos you can acheive
Using my method to make the patchwork base, I made a 35x18 rectangle, and cut out the 2 pieces to make the skirt
It was a real quick project. I put in a black lining to hide all the pressed seams on the inside and installed a simple black ribbed knit waist band.

This is a gift for my niece who is turning 5 on Saturday. She just started Kindergarten and is very fashion conscious....crossing my fingers!
I'm really loving the colors together and it was a fab way to use up some scraps.
I even love how the sample skirt came out. I think I'm gonna give this one to her too!!

Must admit the thought of a patch work skirt did not sound pleasing to me but yours is proof that it can be done and look good. I have two very fashionable nieces and they would definatly wear this.
Hello, Susan.
I love your work, and this skirt is very pretty.
Even the rack that you use for the photo is perfect! :-)
Kisses.
Both skirts are really cute, I bet your niece loves them!
I bet she will love them! They're both super cute :)

No wonder you can't get patchwork out of your head, this is so cute. I love the mix of fabrics.
Those are awesome! I never seem to get my squares that straight, so I'm inspired by you.
I have been thinking of making a patchwork dress or skirt and you just convinced me! Did you finish all of the seams on the patchwork part?
OMG, I'd wear that. So cute. OK, I'm off to my scrap bin.

Great choice of fabrics! Love the colours.
Oh my goodness I love how the patchwork skirt came out. All those colors combine for such a great impact. Now if I tried that, mine would look like a train wreck. Your fashionable five year old niece will love it! Thank you for joining us at A Crafty Soiree! I hope you'll come back next week and link up again!

I love your projects...they are so unique. So far I want to make all the ones I've seen. :-P
adorable. Can you elaborate on the waistband please? Is it elastic or just a stretchy fabric?
Thanks
Teri
