Looking for an easy project?
This one is so easy, you can get the kiddos involved too! My boys loved it and I love seeing them wear my creations.
Right now these Tye Dye shirts are their go-to shirts,
and that makes me a proud mama!
You will need:
Plain white T-Shirt (got ours at Old Navy for $4)
Can of spray paint (used Valspar in blue)
First, lay your shirt out on a smooth surface
Grab the middle of the shirt with your hand and twist lightly until a swirl has formed. Then twist the opposite direction near the shoulders and at the bottom. Basically, just turn the shirt so there are no flat parts. There is no wrong way to do this.
Next, grab a punk and let him have fun! You want to make sure you keep the can about 2 feet from the shirt and use smooth, even strokes.
Keep going until the shirt is covered. Don't be shy about the amount. I ended up using alot more on my second one and it looked much better and brighter
Wait a few minutes for it to dry and lay out flat again. Turn over and repeat on the backside.
If you are wondering about washing, I was a little concerned too. I threw them all in the washer together and was expecting a disaster once they were done, but there was not any color transfer, and they were very soft.
Have Fun!

Love that idea! It looks even better than tie dye!! I see this project in my summer future!
We just tie dyed a couple Tshirts recently, and were disappointed with how light the colors came out. I will maybe have to try this method out, since I love me some spray paint!! lol. I have to say I am a little surprised that the spray paint didn't end up melting or something in your washer & dryer. Really great that it didn't! Thanks for sharing.
Blessings!

Awesome idea! I'm always too chicken to use dye because I'm afraid it will bleed in the wash.
Most excellent! Love the graphic nature of the blue on white. Gotta try this!
Tried this today. We did one color, let it dry and then re-twist and did another color. They came out great! Thanks!
